Influence succeeds when leaders align motivations, relationships, and organizational priorities.

Senior managers are often accountable for outcomes that require cooperation from peers, partners, and stakeholders outside their reporting structure. Yet authority alone rarely creates commitment, especially when priorities compete, resources are constrained, or stakeholders see the risks differently.

This workshop helps participants move beyond compliance-based approaches to influence strategies that build genuine buy-in. Participants will examine what motivates stakeholder commitment, diagnose the barriers that create resistance, and identify how personal power, relationships, and stakeholder interests can be used to build alignment around shared priorities.

In this workshop, participants will apply influence strategies to a current cross-functional initiative, decision, or organizational priority. They will leave with a practical influence plan and increased clarity about how to influence outcomes they do not formally control.

The answer is not always found in our circumstances. Often, it lies in how we interpret and respond to them. The most significant barriers to performance are frequently invisible. This panel focuses on the graduate school and post-graduate experience. Students will take away an understanding of how to improve their chances of getting a graduate school offer, the opportunities that can come from getting a graduate degree, and the experience they can get from attending graduate school. Panelists will speak about their experience entering graduate school, how they applied and ultimately chose their school, and how graduate school opened new opportunities for them.
